ENGLISH PORCELAIN, ASIAN ART, AMERICAN SILVER, EUROPEAN STEINS AND TRIBAL ARTS IN RAGO’S MARCH 17-18 GREAT ESTATES AUCTIONS

Lambertville, NJ – Art and artifacts spanning centuries and continents will be on offer in Rago’s March Great Estates Auctions, with a stand-alone segment for Asian Fine and Decorative Arts on Friday, March 17 followed by American and European Fine and Decorative Arts on Saturday, March 18.

“In addition to fine antiques and art, our March Auction will see the sale of several exceptional pieces of porcelain,” says Gina Tomasello, Director of Rago’s Great Estates Department, “From 17th and 18th century Asian vessels to antique European porcelain plaques by Minton and KPM, this auction features some of the finest pieces to ever cross the Rago auction block.”

Asian Art and Design featuring important 17th and 18th century Chinese porcelain; Japanese cloisonné; a collection of Japanese block prints; impressive Chinese root carving and blanc de chine sculptures; a large collection of 14th-16th century Southeast Asian porcelain, carved jade antiquities and Chinese furniture.

Great Estates: Saturday, March 18 at 10:00 a.m., 660 lots
An impressive collection of Porcelain from a New Jersey estate highlighted by works of Minton and KPM. English, European and American Furniture spanning centuries and styles including a fine sampling of Aesthetic Movement pieces. Decorative Arts including an extensive collection of steins from a Virginia estate, Native American pottery and sculpture; Fine Art by Malvina Hoffman, Al Hirschfeld, Marion Harris, Lee Townsend and others; Militaria and Civil War Memorabilia including a signed Abraham Lincoln letter, weapons, coats, belt buckles and other accoutrements; Collectibles, Books and Ephemera including several lots of meerschaum pipes, Russian lacquer boxes and first edition and signed books; and Sterling Silver from around the world including pieces by Buccellati, Tiffany & Co., Gorham and S.
