LOT 135 – THE CHRYSLER DIAMOND PENDANT NECKLACE
Christie’s Live New Yora k Jewelry Auction held on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, featuring a total of 154 lots recorded a sale total of USD 26,559,250, selling 85% of the lots offered at the sale. Top lot of the sale was LOT 135 – THE CHRYSLER DIAMOND PENDANT NECKLACE = which sold above the upper estimate of USD 4,500,000 for USD 5, 070,000.
The Dancing Sun Diamond
The much favoured pre-sale top lot of the sale, The Dancing Sun Diamond, a 204.36-carat, fancy intense yellow, cushion modified brilliant-cut, VVS2-clarity, diamond, cut from a 552.74-carat rough diamonf, the largest ever rough diamond mined in North America, recovered from the Diavik Mine in Canada, however, registered the second highest price at the sale, selling within the pre-sale estimate of USD 3,500,000 – 5,500,000 for USD 4,950,000.

The Flawless Match – A SUPERB COLORED DIAMOND AND DIAMOND, “TOI ET MOI” (YOU & ME) RING, with a pre-sale estimate of USD 2.5 – 3.5 million, bearing Lot No 102 registered the next highest sale price of USD 2,910,000, also within the pre-sale estimate.
Lot No 154 – JAR DIAMOND “BRANCH UNDER SNOW” BANGLE BRACELET
The most surpising result of the entire sale was registerd by the lot realising the next highest value, Lot No 154 – JAR DIAMOND “BRANCH UNDER SNOW” BANGLE BRACELET, which registered a sale price of USD 1,890,000 which was more than four times the lower estimate of USD 400,000 and more than three times the upper estimate of USD 600,000.
No 153, titled JAR NATURAL PEARL AND DIAMOND EARRINGS
Another Jar Lot bearing No 153, titled JAR NATURAL PEARL AND DIAMOND EARRINGS also did quite well at the sale, realising the fifth highest price of USD 870,000, within the pre-sale estimate of USD 700,000 – 1,000,000
LOT 109 – A RARE COLORED DIAMOND RING
LOT 109 – A RARE COLORED DIAMOND RING – with a pre-sale estimate of USD 250,000 – 350,000 was another stunning lot with extraordinary performance, registering a sale price of USD 846,000 which was more than three time the lower estimate of USD 250,000 and more than two times the upper estimate of USD 350,000.
A third Jar Lot that did extremely well at the auction was LOT 145 – JAR COLORED DIAMOND AND DIAMOND RING – which sold for USD 700,000, more than three time the lower estimate of USD 200,000 and more than two times the upper estimate of USD 300,000.
Lot 77 COLORED DIAMOND RING,
Another colored diamond ring, LOT 77 – property of a Lady, titled COLORED DIAMOND RING, is another lot that did quite well at the auction, selling for USD 675,000 which was more than three times the lower estimate of USD 200,000 and more than two times the upper estimate of USD 300,000. Ring size 6, 18k rose gold ring is claw-set with a 2.58-carat, natural color, fancy intense purplish-pinik, oval modified brilliant-cut, SI-1 clarity diamoind.

LOT 78 – TWO UNMOUNTED EMERALDS – with an estimate of USD 150,000 – 250,000, also did quite well at the sale, selling for USD 600,000 which was four times the lower estimate of USD 150,000 and more than two times the upper estimate of USD 250,000.
LOT 152 – JAR COLORED DIAMOND AND DIAMOND REVERSIBLE “TELESCOPIC RINGS” BRACELET
The fourth Jar Lot that also did quite well at the auction is LOT 152 – JAR COLORED DIAMOND AND DIAMOND REVERSIBLE “TELESCOPIC RINGS” BRACELET – which registered a selling price of USD 450,000 which was more than double the lower estimate of USD 200,000 and USD 150,00 more than the upper estimate of USD 300,000.
LOT 107 – HARRY WINSTON RING
LOT 107 – HARRY WINSTON RING – with an estimate of USD 250,000 -350,000 is another lot that exceeded the upper estimate, selling for USD 425,000, USD75,000 more than the upper estimate and USD 175,000 more than the lower estimate.
LOT 115 – DIAMOND RING
DDAnother diamond ring, LOT 115 – DIAMOND RING – with an estimate of USD 250,000 – USD 350,000 also exceeded the estimate selling for USD 400,000, USD 50,000 more than the upper estimate and USD 150,000 miore than the lower estimate.

LOT 80 – COLORED DIAMOND AND DIAMOND RING – with an estimate of USD 300,000 – USD 400,000 sold within the estimate for USD 375,000.

LOT 151 – JAR EMERALD, COLORED SAPPHIRE AND DIAMOND RING – with an estimate of USD 80,000 – USD 120,000 is another JAR LOT that dod extremely well at the sale, selling for USD 375,000 which was more than four times the lower estimate and more than three times the upper estimate.

LOT 147 – another JAR LOT, titled JAR COLORED SAPPHIRE, PINK SPINEL AND DIAMOND “BONNET” RING with an estimate of USD 120,000 – 220,000 also did quite well at the sale registering a price of USD 250,000 slightly above the upper estimate.
