Gemstone grippers

High quality grippers are made up of non-magnetic stainless steel. Grippers usually come in two sizes, 55mm and 115mm.

Threads

Threads for making colored stone jewelry

Special threads are used to make jewelry with gemstone beads.

i) Plastic coated metal wire:

These are special threads made up of non-breakable steel wire and coated with plastic. This type of wire usually comes from 0.3mm to 0.45mm in diameter. These wires come with a wide range of colors.

ii) Stretchable PVC threads:

These are non-breakable threads that are also streatchable. The usual diameter of these wires range from 0.4 to 0.8mm and usually come with white, black, brown, green and pink colors.

iii) Non- Stretchable PVC threads:

These threads are readily available in most marlets and comes in many different colors. Its diameter usually ranges from 0.6mm to 1.5mm.

iv) Nylon threads:

Nylon threads are very strong and un-breakable. Its diameter usually ranges from 0.3 to 1mm and comes in green, pink, purple, white and red.

Tweezers used in the gem and jewellery industry are made from high quality non-magnetic stainless steel. Some tweezers are made from titanium. There are three common types of tweezers:

i) Vertical tweezers

ii) Locking type tweezers (Slide lock tweezers).

iii) Check type tweezers.
